Green

El Dorado Furniture is working hard to become a more efficient and eco-friendly company.

We call this ongoing initiative "Project ECO".

These are just some of the steps we're taking to help the environment.

On average, El Dorado Furniture annually recycles:

  • 1.7 million lbs. of cardboard, equivalent to 12 million empty cereal boxes!

  • 130,000 lbs. of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Styrofoam, equivalent to 26 million foam coffee cups!

  • 120,000 lbs. of clean wood, equivalent to more than 38 million Popsicle® sticks!

  • 68,000 lbs. of plastic, equivalent to more than 2 million empty water bottles!

  • 31,200 lbs. of paper, equivalent to nearly 3 million sheets of printer paper!

Beyond Recycling

  • El Dorado Furniture offers a wide variety of eco-friendly furniture ranging from bedrooms to dining sets. These pieces are made of organic and/or recycled materials and use water-based finishes that don't harm the earth's atmosphere. The manufacturing process for these pieces is also less harmful to the environment.

  • El Dorado Furniture's showrooms and corporate offices are outfitted with the innovative Novar® energy efficiency system to help regulate energy-related tasks by using strategic lighting and air conditioning to conserve energy.

  • El Dorado Furniture outfits new showroom roofs, and renovations on existing roofs, with heat-reflective material, which saves energy by cutting down on air conditioning use.

  • Newer El Dorado Furniture showrooms implement high-efficiency air conditioning in order to conserve energy.

  • Many El Dorado Furniture showrooms are being outfitted with high-efficiency lighting to conserve energy.

  • El Dorado Furniture has enhanced the landscaping at each of its showrooms in order to cut down on irrigation.

  • El Dorado Furniture's main Distribution Center uses high-efficiency lighting to strategically provide employees with optimal lighting while cutting down energy consumption by nearly 30%.

  • El Dorado Furniture's corporate offices have drastically cut down on paper consumption by reducing the number of printers and making a major transition to digital forms and advertising. In addition, print catalogs are printed on recycled paper.
